Melissa fell into event planning when her first task as a Land Use Planner, for Harford County, Maryland, was to plan a Bike to Work Day event. Soon she had joined the International City/County Management Association in Washington DC where she planned National Brownfields Conferences with 5,000 attendees. Melissa organized educational sessions, maintained conference websites and managed the production and distribution of conference marketing materials. She realized she was on the right path when she won the association’s Annual Conference Rookie of the Year award.
After relocating to Seattle, Melissa worked for National Conferences Services, Inc as an onsite event planner for a federal agency. She planned a variety of events from offsite meetings to construction kick-offs and building dedications. Currently, she manages speakers and conference logistics. You'll also see her on-site at events, working to make sure everything is running smoothly. In addition, she's in charge of all things techie. She'll friend you on Facebook and connect with you on LinkedIn, as she handles our social media efforts and manages our website.
